It's engineered to fit around the drive shaft so that it can have maximum clearance, even if your truck has a lift on it.
Looking to run a sump with this tank? Well, S&B is way ahead of you by integrating a sump right into the tank. You heard right, there's no need to drill a big hole in the bottom of your new tank. Just remove the aluminum plug, drill and tap a 5/8" hole and you're ready to plumb right into your fuel system using the supplied fittings that follow the channel in the tank.
